These images are taken from a building in EUR (Esposizione Universale Roma) in southern Rome. EUR is an area of monumental buildings originally dating from the 1930s to celebrate twenty years of fascism for the proposed 1942 World Fair (which due to WWII never took place). This project explores issues around the rise and fall of empire, the lure of populism and its legacy, along with what’s abandoned, discarded and left behind. These images are scanned black & white negatives shot on Ilford DELTA 100 professional film, 120mm.
