Westbourne Bridge is part of the Paddington Westway area of London. It’s a barren urban red route with limited pedestrian access and some of the worst air quality in the capital as juggernauts speed past on the dual carriageway. I became interested in the textures and paintwork: the side panels are welded metal sheets which over years have been repaired, repainted, and repaired again, eroded and rusted by exposure to the elements, in places corroded by the toxicity of their environment.
